Two rockets fired at Israel from Lebanon, setting off sirens in the north

JERUSALEM – The Israeli army said that two missiles were fired from Lebanon towards northern Israel in the early hours of Tuesday morning, triggering sirens in the north of the country.

The military said one of the missiles was shot down by Israel’s Iron Dome air defense system and the other landed in an open area without causing damage. It did not say who blamed it for the rocket fire or what retaliatory steps it might take, if any.

“We remain ready to defend Israel on all fronts,” the IDF said. Share on Twitter on her official account.

Syrian state media reported that the Syrian air defenses intercepted on Monday evening an Israeli attack on an area south of Aleppo, in an area where Israel has been repeatedly attacked by an increased Iranian presence.

A Syrian military spokesman told state media that damage was being assessed after air defenses shot down most of the missiles.
