Notwithstanding that the whole sequence is the product of someone it should just be a file distasteful By person, I mean honestly how you look at yourself in the bathroom mirror in the morning after yesterday making arguments like who – which, there is a fairly basic flaw in Tommy’s logic. The attempt at rebellion is not “history” yet, because it is not over yet. The day before Pat Toomey appeared on TV to claim that investigations into the origins of the attack were just political games, the top insurgency coordinator and figurehead clown dear Republican was once again claiming that the election had been rigged, that the people who were looking to invalidate the Patriots, and that all That could put him back in presidential power, and topple the current president, the constitution, and our democracy in one fell swoop.
Have you met Donald Trump, Senator Pat Tommy? I think you have. Donald Trump doesn’t think the rebellion is over. Donald Trump continues to provoke the crowds with the exact lies that he launched a domestic terrorist attack on the Capitol at first.
Want to review your notes, Pat Tommy?
In a speech to believers less than 24 hours before Tommy appeared, Trump once again led a crowd to boo his vice president, who continues to attack him for not conspiring to invalidate the election results. He continues to attack the other characters that the mob hunted that day. He still claims that the elections were stolen from him, using the same false claims that he, his allies, and a majority of Republican lawmakers themselves used to justify invalidating the election results.
More importantly, he continues to insist on his frantic and delusional base that elections may be distance It is invalidated, and brought back to power.
Attempting to bring down democracy by getting rid of election results that did not go the way of the Republican Party is not just “history.” It is continuous. Senator Pat Tommy himself is helping with this by demanding that the causes of pro-Trump violence by pro-Trump mobs bent on nullifying elections be left unchecked — so that they are ignored, so that his party can better focus on the demonization that the Democratic President Trump continues to criticize.
Pat Tommy doesn’t have to do that. It doesn’t have to be hacky. He does not have to ally himself with a fascist movement that continues to press for a return to power by any means necessary. He doesn’t have to do any of this.
And he does it anyway. History will throw that in with all that’s left, assuming Tommy’s party doesn’t get what it wants, and democracy does indeed survive this outright fascist moment.
Pat Toomey was one of seven Republican senators who agreed, last February, that Donald Trump should be sued for inciting rebellion, which Tommy says now needs no further review. It’s not stupid. He is not reflexively cowardly. But he still appears intent on shifting blame for the violence away from senior officials of his party and fellow lawmakers more than he does to ensure that the rebellion truly fails. At this moment, the rebellion not Failed. The man most responsible for this is so far making fresh speeches to new crowds claiming that he might return to office – if only his allies had the extra-constitutional courage to bring about that change.
