Roommates, 20 years ago today, the beautiful and talented High She released her third and final album – just a few weeks before her untimely death in a plane crash. Despite the sadness that surrounded the album over her death, “Aaliyah” is still considered one of her greatest works.

The future production And the writing skills of Timbaland and Missy Elliott prove once again that they make magic on this album of classic hit songs that still sound as timeless today as they did when they were originally released. The album included three official singles, two of which were released posthumously, lead single “We Need A Resolution”, dance track “More Than A Woman” and “Rock The Boat” – the video she filmed on site before her tragic plane crash.

From the moment she hit the music scene with her debut album ‘Age Ain’t Nothin’ But A Number’ in 1994, Aaliyah has always been ahead of her time – but with the album ‘Alia’ she has truly benefited from something like no other artist has been close to, which is why Its massive impact remains at an all-time high.

Aaliyah was a mixture of love, relationships, and the complexities that come with it. The album was really loud, Becoming a Young Woman after it was initially introduced to us as a teenager.

Recorded during her burgeoning film career, after completing the feature films “Romeo Must Die” and “Queen of the Damned,” Aaliyah struggled more than ever to make sure she controlled the album’s direction — and her decisions only contributed to this undeniable classic.

Aaliyah may have moved on, but her amazing music still remains. Happy Eid!
