Today, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has expanded onto the small screen again, with the emergence of Marvel Studios’ second Disney + limited series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. This comes on the heels of WandaVision’s success, these are big shoes to fill, but as of now, the MCU has continued to branch out in some very interesting directions. While WandaVision had a magic component, this feels like a somewhat more coherent offering. In some ways, it’d be more realistic and action-packed as well, making The Falcon and the Winter Soldier something that could easily remind you of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, for example. I know I’m digging it yet, that’s for sure …
The prequel to the mini-series is from IMDb: “After the events of ‘Avengers: Endgame’, Sam Wilson / Falcon and Bucky Barnes / Winter Soldier team up on a global adventure that tests their abilities – and their patience. The cast clearly includes Anthony Mackie as Sam / Falcon, along with Sebastian Stan as Bucky / Winter Soldier, with supporting players including Daniel Brull, Adibeiro Udy, Wyatt Russell, Emily Vancamp, and more. Carrie Skogland directs the series, and the lead writer on hand is Malcolm Spielman.
