Simply put, “I feel like it’s a win-win situation.”

Although Sunisa will continue to show off her impressive skills as an athlete at Auburn University, she maintains that she hopes to restart and recharge first.

“Right now, comfort is the main focus because I’ve been hit a little bit at the Olympics,” she revealed. “Coming here, I was hoping to let my body relax, as well as my mind, because that takes a lot from me.”

She continued, “I just want to focus on myself and prepare for the season. I have a really good team behind me. I’m excited for everything to come in the future.”

If anything, Sunisa mostly looks to be a regular college student.

“A lot of people know me here. I just got here, so of course people will be excited,” she explained of her newfound stardom. “Once he dies, I feel like it’s going to be a little better and I’ll be able to do things and be able to go somewhere without being called. I’m really happy to be here.”

She concluded, “I just wanted to have some fun. Elite gymnastics was so challenging and there wasn’t any time to have fun or hang out with your friends. Coming here, I can be more free, and I’m excited to be part of a team.”

On Friday, August 13th, Sunisa proved just how excited she is for this new chapter. Share the Olympic Instagram Picture of herself proudly wearing a burgundy T-shirt while standing in front of the campus building. She commented on her message “War Eagle”.
