Sarika Kali was 10 when she started playing Kho Kho, a popular team sport in South Asia.
Even at that age, it was a tough choice for her. Her father, who had died from playing sports, stopped talking to her.
But with the support of his mother and grandmother, she continued her work and went on to become the captain of the women’s team in India. She led the country to win the championship and claimed one of the highest sporting titles.
Looking back, she says she is glad that she chose Kho Kho.
