A number of people were outraged yesterday after the Georgia House of Representatives, Park Cannon, was arrested after she ended up behind bars after knocking out Georgia. As previously mentioned, US Senator John Usoff and attorney Benjamin Cramp have spoken out against the foolish arrest. However, more details leading to her arrest have been provided. And according to CNN, the Georgia State Journal released a statement about Rep. Cannon knocking on the door. The statement said that at 6:33 p.m., Cannon was “banging on the door of the governor’s office,” and when he was asked to stop, he went to the door of the governor’s ceremonial office with the sign “Ruler’s employees only” and knocked on that door.
The statement continues by saying that after Rep. Cannon was instructed to stop knocking on the door twice during Governor Kemp’s press conference. The statement also claimed that she was warned that she would be arrested if she did not stop on the roads. Cannon refused to stop knocking on the door. Representative Cannon was placed under arrest and taken outside the Capitol.
Unfortunately, she was held in Fulton County Jail but later released. MP Cannon shared a series of tweets after her release thanking her supporters. She tweeted, “Hi everyone, thanks for your support. I have been released from prison. I am not the first Georgian to be arrested for fighting voter suppression. I would say I am the last, but we know this is not true. # SB202”
And she continued, “But one day, this last person will be released from prison for the last time and take the first breath, knowing that no one will be imprisoned again because of his struggle for the right to vote. # SB202” Representative Cannon continued calling for the issue of voter suppression and explained that she You will never stop fighting for the voters of Georgia.
