Questlove says calling HFPA’s lack of diversity is just talk, until it changes

Questlove Says Amy Poehler And the Tina Fey Calling the Golden Globes for lack of diversity means nothing more than just performing … at least for now.

We got the head of “The Tonight Show” heading to work Monday at NBC Studios in New York City and asked about Amy and Tina taking pictures at the Foreign Press Association in Hollywood as not having black members during an awards show.

It sure seemed strange to the show’s hosts and other celebrities to raise the issue publicly during the broadcast – but Quest, for example, wasn’t a fan.

He described the notes as purely “performative”, and put them straight on HFPA to actually add black members. Until then, he’s basically saying … Save my talk.

There has been much backlash against the Hollywood Foreign Journalists Association, whose members vote on the Golden Globes. You might have heard … it has 87 members, and not a single black one.
