Project 17: Solving food waste in Singapore

0

Singapore imports 90% of its food and 744,000 tons of it in 2019.

The 17-year-old Chan wants to find possible solutions to the problem. He says looking at the issue opened his eyes to the “sheer scale of food waste”, but he learned that tackling waste can help society in addition to saving food.

This video is part of Project 17, the BBC World Service Series produced in partnership with The Open University, as 17-year-olds around the world look at the progress made on the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
