Hundreds of mourners on Thursday attended the three-finger salute at the funeral of a 19-year-old woman murdered in Myanmar.
Kel Sen, better known as Angel, was killed when she was shot in the head while protesting in the streets of Mandalay City.
Her image has been seen as a symbol of defiance by the civil disobedience movement waging a campaign against military rule.
There was no statement from the military government regarding its decision to escalate the use of lethal force. 38 people were killed when security forces opened fire on a crowd of protesters on Wednesday.
