Just a few days ago, we detailed Gladstone’s Lily Landing in much of Martin Scorsese’s recent movie, Killers of the Flower Moon. Today, an actor with ties to Scorsese scored a lead role in the movie. Yes, Jesse Plemons, who had a supporting role in The Irishman, would be the lead in that next movie. He will be opposite Gladstone, as well as Scorsese Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio. This movie, unsurprisingly, takes shape flawlessly, indicating a huge player for Apple when it finally comes to the screens, likely next year. Personally, I can’t wait, and I’m sure I’m far from the only person …
Here is some of the story from final date:
After playing the role of an FBI agent in Judas and the Black Christ, Jesse Plemons looks to stay in the office. He is set to join Killers of the Flower Moon at Apple Studios, which Martin Scorsese directed with Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro attached to the star.
Based on David Gran’s bestseller set in Oklahoma in the 1920s, Killers of the Flower Moon depicts the serial killing of members of the oil-rich Osage Nation, a series of brutal crimes that have come to be known as the Reign of Terror. Plimmons will play the lead FBI agent investigating the murders.
Lily Gladstone is also on board to play Molly Burckhardt, Osage who is married to Ernest Burckhardt (DiCaprio), who is the nephew of a powerful local farmer (De Niro).
Scorsese will also produce for Apple Studios and Imperative Entertainment from the screenplay of Eric Roth. Produced by Imperative’s Dan Friedkin, Bradley Thomas, and Appian Way Productions alongside Scorsese.
Besides his role in stealing the scene in Judas and the Black Messiah, upcoming Plemons credits include Disney’s Jungle Cruise alongside Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt, the latest Scott Cooper film Antlers opposite Keri Russell and the production of Guillermo Del Toro. He also appeared recently in Charlie Kaufman’s play I Think About Finishing Things.
He also just finished working on Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog opposite Benedict Cumberbatch and Kirsten Dunst.
Killers of the Flower Moon joins an expanded exposition of anticipated Apple originals to be developed and produced by Apple Studios, including chemistry lessons starring and executive produced by Brie Larson and written and executed by Susanna Grant; Kitbag, Ridley Scott’s latest movie and starring Joaquin Phoenix; And editing, directed by Antoine Fuqua and starring and producing Will Smith.
