Kiefer Sutherland Is to play a private spy in his latest TV series.
The 24 And the Designated Survivor The star is the lead and directing of a previously requested untitled spy drama Basic+ Comes from John Riqua and Glenn Vicara, Who took out the NBC pilot this is us.
It’s Sutherland’s latest small-screen role after a short while on Quibi’s Fugitive, Which premiered in the short-range short-haul service last August.
The series stars Sutherland as a special spy agent James Weir, who finds himself in the midst of a battle to preserve democracy in a world that is inconsistent with misinformation, behavioral manipulation, the state of watch, and the interests that control these extraordinary powers.

The eight-episode season will be produced by CBS Studios.
Riqua and Ficara who signed a Broadcast deal only with Fox Last October, she wrote feature films including Santa villain And the Jungle excursion And filmmaking including Crazy stupid love. Their next project is a limited series of Apple TV + It shattered With Jared Leto and Anne Hathaway.
They will produce alongside Charlie Gogolac, who co-direct the Ziftig films, and Suzanne Bemel. Designated Survivor Exec producer and co-founder of Management360.
The project also reunited Sutherland with David Nevins, CBS Creative Director and Chairman and CEO of Showtime Networks, who ran Imagine TV when 24 He was in his prime.

The series will be distributed internationally by the global distribution group ViacomCBS.
