Katie Thurston got especially candid and personal on The Bachelorette this week.
At first, I sent some potential husbands home.
Still anger over the claim last Monday night about men Being in season for the wrong reasonsThurston said to her suitor at the beginning of this new episode:
“I don’t have the right mindset to give some players the energy and time they deserve.”
as a result of?
“I won’t give any more time to anyone else tonight. We’re going straight to the rose party.”
With that, Thurston handed out roses to David, Hunter, Connor C and Mike B, but paused after the 31-year-old Virgin referred to a claim last Monday that the suitor was only for fame and fortune, telling Katie:
“What Carl said wasn’t the truth.”
“Do you all feel the same?” asked Katie.
The men nodded and Thurston excused herself.
She explained to co-hosts Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe that she wanted to keep Karl, but after Mike P. was revealed, she second-guessed herself.
Cut back to a rose ceremony, where Katie chooses not to give Karl a rose.
Michael, Connor B, Kourtney, Trey, Justin, Andrew M, Christian, Josh, Brendan, James, and Aaron have moved on instead.
But the main focus this week was on Nick Viall’s appearance in order to lead a discussion between Katie and her men, leading each to open up about problems from their past relationships.
The contestants then confessed to various things related to the divorce…drug abuse…and infidelity…and as they did, Thurston felt the need to speak up.
In an astonishing twist, she went on to reveal something of her own that “not even her mother knows.”
“I know you all now know me as this sex-positive person,” Thurston said.
“But years ago at a New Year’s Eve party, I was drinking and there was a situation where I had sex with someone I didn’t approve of.”
Wow, huh?
Also: just awful.
Katie continued on the air, explaining that the incident happened a decade ago:
“I was in denial about what happened, and I was still trying to form a relationship with him because I didn’t want to believe what actually happened.
“And when that didn’t work, for years I had an unhealthy relationship with sex. I didn’t want to have sex, which affects the relationship.
“I didn’t like talking about sex. And it took me a long time to get to where I am now.
“And being honest and comfortable talking about it and loving myself and accepting the things I can no longer control.”
Looking at Thurston appeared to meet Matt James on The Bachelor With vibrator in handThis admission will likely come as a shock to most viewers.
But you never know, do you?
Thurston concluded on this topic:
“I just want you guys to know I’ve come a long way in who I was 10 years ago and how important consent is, how important communication is and how important it is to not feel guilt in someone’s journey for not having enough sex with them, guilt causing them not to have sex with them in general “.
At the subsequent party, Katie described the group’s date and confession as “transformative.”
But the men were more interested in Thomas, who claimed to have told Thurston in the same episode that he was in love with her.
“It feels fraudulent, it almost feels like campaigning, like, ‘You want to be a bachelor. I don’t know what it is,'” Hunter told Thomas in front of the other men.
“I mean, is that something you thought about?”
Thomas did not deny it either.
“Yeah, getting into this, one of the ideas running through my mind was probably the next Bachelor,” he finally admitted.
Whoa there! Total Wrong Causes Alert!
Thomas claimed he now cared more about ending up with Thurston than of ending up as the next Bachelor – but his rivals were left with a lot of skepticism.
However, bringing such concern to Katie’s attention would have to wait until next week.
