DJ Olivia Dope recently clarified her departure from the Joe Bowden network and the “See The Thing Is” podcast, and made some disappointing notes about Budden and his behavior while working with him.
Olivia claims that Joe made “sexually suggestive” statements toward her while participating in the show, and Joe has since issued an apology on behalf of himself and the network. He also expressed his commitment to women’s rights.
“As a podcast maker, my job is to tackle the topics and create dialogue about them. During the conversation on See, the thing is He said via Rolling Stone, I didn’t treat the subjects with the sensitivity they deserved. “I realize that my words and my strength in this situation created a disturbing environment for Olivia. On reflection, the network and I are responsible for that.”
“I sincerely apologize to Olivia, her former hosts, outside staff and the audience. In an effort not to increase any trauma, the episode will be removed from all platforms. We support the rights of all women to feel comfortable and protected in the workplace. We have failed to achieve this in this case.”
Olivia Dube spoke about her podcast experience, saying it was “painful” and “embarrassing.” It also alleged that Joe suggested they have sex while recording. Olivia clearly stated that Joe “made constant sexual and suggestive remarks that made me feel very uncomfortable as well as fear of weakening my mood if I didn’t laugh all the time while making those sexual remarks to me.”
