HBO really wants to look forward to their content this year. To that end, the network recently dropped a teaser for its upcoming shows in 2021. There are a bunch of interesting things, but the most important one is the remake of the Ingmar Bergman Classic Scenes From a Wedding mini-series. Just like the Swedish original that aired several episodes on TV, this one will be. Here, Jessica Chastain and Oscar Isaac’s couple will be at the center of the chain of events. These two have clearly worked together before, especially on A Most Violent Year, so watching them again would be a real pleasure.
diverse This was to say, when reporting on the miniseries last year, when Michelle Williams was opposite Isaac, unlike Chastain:
Variety learned that Oscar Isaac and Michael Williams are linked to a star in a limited-series HBO series based on “scenes from the marriage” of Ingmar Bergman.
Bergmann’s version was broadcast on Swedish television in 1973 and consists of six episodes. Bergman directed the series with Liv Ullman and Ireland Josephson. The new release is said to revisit the show’s portrayal of love, hate, desire, monogamy, marriage, and divorce through the lens of a contemporary American couple.
Williams and Isaac will also carry out production in addition to the tournament. Hagai Levy will write, direct and execute the production. Michael Ellenberg will be executive production via Media Res. Amy Herzog, Lars Bloomgren, Daniel Bergmann and Blair Brard will also be executive producers. Media Res and Endeavor content will be produced.
