A Florida Dunkin ‘Donuts employee is behind bars for punching an agent, causing the man to retreat and hit his head in a fatal blow.

Corey Pujols, 27, was working at a Tampa Dunkin Donuts restaurant when a 77-year-old man came to a fast food restaurant to complain about the drive’s service, despite the fact that employees previously asked him to leave, according to WFLA.

According to a Tampa Police Department spokesperson, the client described Pujols as a racist insult and “challenged” the man to repeat the slander. The spokesman said the man repeated the insults, prompting Pujols to punch the man in the jaw.

According to the police, one of the punches hit the man on the ground, hitting his head. The Tampa Fire Rescue responded to a 911 call and took the man to the hospital where he died two days later.

Court records show that Pujols was arrested the same day the client died. Boguls is accused of the premeditated murder of an elderly or disabled man with a weapon.

According to Tampa Police, Pujols is currently being held at Hillsborough County Jail without any evidence and the case is still under investigation.

While Dunkin’s employees had no comment on the situation, the spokesperson sent a statement about the incident to the WFLA saying that the company is “extremely sad”.

“The franchisee, who independently owns and operates this restaurant, cooperates fully with the local authorities,” the statement said. “As this is an ongoing investigation, we are deferring any further questions to the police.”

However, there is a guy who lives in the Duncan District who knows both men involved. He told the Scottish Football Association that the accident was horrific.

“(Pujols) was a good guy, he used to open Dunkin ‘every morning. He was giving us free coffee, and we’d help out with the trash. The guy said,’ It’s amazing that he would be the one who would do something like that. ‘”

He added that the elderly client was a veteran who “was getting up there old” and “having trouble.”

“Two good people, just a bad situation.”
