People in Haiti are used to such events. I was very shocked by the president’s assassination because he represents the country. I did not believe that the commando could pass not only his personal security but the neighborhood security and kill him. He is incredible. But at the same time, when you take a step back, you think about all the happenings in the country and you think, huh, that’s not surprising. Gangs are killing people close to the National Palace. Two weeks ago, the president was giving a press conference and you could hear gunfire in the background. I’m just saying, well, anything can happen in this country.
