According to scientists, a simple blood test that can detect more than 50 types of cancer before a person has any clinical signs or symptoms of disease is accurate enough to be asked as a screening test.

The overall ability to generate a positive test result in blood cancers, such as lymphoma and myeloma, was 55.1%, and the test correctly identified the tissue in which the cancer was present in the body in 88.7% of cases.
