Barack Obama and Bruce Springsteen: Their Newest Podcast Duo

The president and rock star met on a 2008 campaign, and over the years have forged a warm friendship. In January 2017, as Obama prepared to leave office, Springsteen gave an intimate performance that spanned his career in the White House, then Developed On his solo show on Broadway. Dan Ferman, president of High Ground Audio, said Michelle Obama’s experience with presenting her show last year spurred the former president to create his podcast, and he chose Springsteen as his interviewer. “It’s a great song,” Obama quickly adds.
