A former Royal Marine, who was near the blasts in Kabul, told the BBC about getting caught in the chaos outside Hamid Karzai International Airport.
Paul “Ben” Farthing and his supporters have been campaigning to evacuate his staff and their families, as well as 140 dogs and 60 cats, from Kabul since the collapse of the Afghan government.
“I was pressed twice today in the face from the AK, forced to leave the airport, and as we did was when these two attacks occurred,” said Mr. Farthing, who founded the Nowzad shelter.
