Roommates, although the incident happened over a week ago, the intense fallout from DaBaby’s controversial comments during his set at the Rolling Loud Festival continues to see him receive dire consequences – and now academics Present his opinion of the situation. Taking to Twitter, Akademiks posted a lengthy note of DaBaby’s cancellation and called the festivals “hypocritical.”

Akademiks Books next message About Dababi in a thread of tweets:

“It’s just strange how festivals put such detailed statements about how much they care about humanity and because of that there can be no little kid on their show for what he said. However, 90% of the artists they book in..the music is about drugs and murder..they are okay completely.

These companies must choose whether to prioritize art or ethics. Because they all look like hypocrites when they try to ride a high horse. Artists cancel… Hip hop is a genre full of imperfect individuals who tell stories. Why even attack her if you want saints.”

As previously mentioned, DaBaby is now excluded from seven music festivals and many are wondering if he will be welcomed to next month’s MTV VMAs in Brooklyn, New York.

He also issued a second apology for his comments he posted on his Instagram account:

“Social media is moving so fast that people want to tear you down before you have a chance to grow, educate, and learn from your mistakes. As a man who had to make his way out of very difficult circumstances, having people I knew publicly worked against me – knowing that what I needed was Education about these topics and mentoring – it was challenging.

I appreciate the many people who have come to me with kindness, and who have reached out to me privately to offer wisdom, education, and resources. This is what I needed and it was received. I want to apologize to the LGBTQ+ community for the hurtful and offensive comments I made. Once again, I apologize for my misleading comments about HIV/AIDS and know that education about this is important. love for all. God bless.”

DaBaby seems to be continuing with his remaining shows, including one he just had with 50 Cent.
